Gold was continuously reacting from a strong Daily level, with sellers repeatedly defending the area.

Even after the previous day’s CPI volatility, price failed to establish a clean break below the Daily level. Instead, the market started consolidating around the area, showing that the level was still being respected.

During the Asian session, price pushed back toward the Daily level. This move also provided the liquidity required from a 4H candle formed during the previous session.

Entry Logic

Once the 4H candle liquidity was taken, we shifted our focus to the 5-minute timeframe.

Price then delivered a strong bearish displacement by breaking the last point of demand / short-term bullish structure.

Rather than chasing the impulsive move, the entry was taken on the small retest/reaction around the breakdown area.

This gave us a clean lower-timeframe confirmation while keeping the entry aligned with the higher-timeframe bearish context.

Target & Trade Management

The position was then held toward a fresh 4H level, which was identified as the main target before entering the trade.

The idea was to allow the lower-timeframe confirmation to provide the entry, while using the higher timeframe to define the destination.

Price continued to respect the bearish structure and eventually reached the fresh 4H level, completing the planned move.

Trade Logic

Daily Level → 4H Liquidity Sweep → 5M Structure Break → Retest → Entry → 4H Fresh Level Target

This setup combined higher-timeframe location and liquidity with lower-timeframe confirmation, giving the trade a clear invalidation and a predefined higher-timeframe target.

Key Takeaway

Higher-timeframe levels give the location. Lower-timeframe structure gives the entry. Higher-timeframe fresh levels give the target.

The objective isn’t to predict every move. It’s to identify the right location, wait for confirmation, execute with precision, and let price move toward the next logical higher-timeframe level.
